Alternative fuels resources(AFR)either in solid or liquid phases are increasingly in use in the the cement industry. The main advantages are lower emissions, less expensive to procure, environmental contamination is greatly reduced.
AFR may include waste detergents and oils, wood chips and saw dust, petcoke, uncurred rubber, automotive tires and tire chips, hydrocarbon soiled rags, grains, etc.
Good storage and handling facilities are required to provide optimal blending for energy utilization.
A 150 mt capacity storage bin complete with automatic weighting, self extraction and tranport equipment is shown on the attached photo.
This particular installation is used to handle wood debris from construction waste, which is brought into the plant in sizes ranging between -0.3875" to -3.0".
